Lacrosse FAQ

Fort Erie Hawks Lacrosse is a local volunteer-run association that is all about keeping kids active! Our focus is on learning the sport and developing skills while keeping it fun!

We are so grateful to be located in a community that is so supportive of minor sports. We receive a lot of support from local businesses and groups in our efforts to get kids off the gaming systems and moving!

We are a member of the Ontario Lacrosse Association ( www.ontariolacrosse.com ) and Zone 9 Lacrosse Association ( www.zone9lacrosse.ca ).

Any questions can be emailed to our club Registrar: registrar@forterielacrosse.com

I might be interested in coaching. How do I find out what all is involved?

Let us know when you register your child if you have any questions about coaching. All volunteers need to take a certified NCCP introductory coaching course. The cost of the course is reimbursed by FEMLA after completing 1 year of coaching any division either in our Field or Box programs.

I might be interested in refereeing.

Refereeing is a paid position that does require training. Please let us know if you are interested in becoming a referee or if you have any questions you can email: info@forterielacrosse.com

What if my child cannot attend a game or practice?

Attendance for games and practices is very important. Learning and developing together as a team can only happen if your child is there consistently. If there are extenuating circumstances and your child is unable to be at a practice or game, you are asked to always inform your coaching staff as soon as you know.

Can I get my registration refunded if we decide not to play?

The Fort Erie Minor Lacrosse Association charges a $35 dollar administration fee for ALL REFUNDS (unless the program is cancelled by the FEMLA) to cover OLA fees.

NO REFUNDS will be issued after the first official practice.

All requests for refunds must be made to the FEMLA Registrar at: registrar@forterielacrosse.com.

Refund Requests due to injury withdrawals will be treated on a case by case basis. If you are entitled to a refund, the Club Treasurer will contact you.

Who would I contact if I had a concern or question?

If you have a concern within the team, we encourage you to speak to the coaching staff to resolve the issue. However, if you are unable to resolve the issue or you have a concern or suggestion outside of your particular team, please feel free to contact a member of the executive by sending an email to: info@fortereielacrosse.com.
